Too Tired? Too Anxious? Need More Time? We’ve got your back.
Throughout this course we have learned about systemic, programmatic, and everyday challenges many students encounter across postsecondary institutions. We have also learned about ways institutions can support students to improve postsecondary outcomes.
In an 8-10-page paper identify a stage in students’ postsecondary trajectories (e.g., preparation, transition, persistence, etc.) you want to address. The purpose of the paper is to integrate the course readings/ideas to design/present a program, support, and/or resources intended to improve postsecondary outcomes. The paper must be framed through an equity framework and focus on a student population that has been traditionally underserved in higher education.
When preparing your paper think about and address the following:
• The student group who is the focus of your paper (e.g., first-gen students, BIPOC students, undocumented
students, transfer students, etc.) – Provide information about this groups experience in postsecondary education.
o Note that students in these groups have intersecting identities and it might be important to address some of these issues as well.

• What program, support, and/or resource are you highlighting? For example, what is something that has worked? How do you know it works (i.e., data/outcomes)? What changes would you make to improve the program (e.g., what areas still need to be addressed?
o This can be an existing program/support/resource you have participated in or worked on. Or this can be an opportunity to design a new one.
o Be sure to discuss how it addresses ideas of equity.
• How can institutions commit to support program, supports, and/or resources like this?
o For example, what type of professional development and support needs to committed to be support this student population?
o What type of structural need to occur to support students?
o How does this make you think about yourself and ensuring delivery of services, supports, program
design?
