This is just a proposal
After completing the Grid Activity Download Grid Activityto help you publish through your ideas and reviewing the requirements for Essay 2, synthesize those ideas into an essay proposal which contains the following:
First, (https://youtu.be/Eo4NEmayRXk)a working publish of your XY thesis statement which crafts an argument about a scene from the course film which you wish to analyze;
A description of your film scene along with one or two main visual elements which you intend to write about;
A description of the first “lens” that you’ve drawn from one of our sources (either Crary or any other course text–Carr, Gilliard, or Rosen). Define the word, idea, or conceptual application of this lens and propose a possible application to your scene that you’d like to explore.
A description of the second “lens” that you’ve drawn from one of our sources (either Crary or any other course text–Carr, Gilliard, or Rosen). Define the word, idea, or conceptual application of this lens and propose a possible application to your scene that you’d like to explore. What does the second lens allow you to see that the first text doesn’t?
Building upon your lens-based analysis, briefly draw an interpretive conclusion about your scene. This is your “So What?”. What does the scene suggest about an issue we’ve addressed in class?
Finally, note any challenges you foresee or questions you have about this process.
