Based on the interview you watched, please write a BIRP note based on the client’s case you’ve viewed. Please summarize the client and clinician interaction. Please include the following details:
1. Behavior: How does the client present during the session? What circumstances and decisions led the client to the session today? What types of ‘behavior’ or responses has the client had regarding their situation? Does the client appear ambivalent, interested in change, or indecisive about the change in their situation?
2. Intervention: Based on the view of the therapist’s responses to the client, what types of interventions has the clinician implemented during the session? Does the client suggest any changes they plan to make regarding their situation? Discuss how the intervention will be implemented.
3. Response: What was the client’s response to the intervention? Does the client’s verbal behavior or body language seem to accept and consider the interventions the therapist suggests? What (if any) actions has the client taken to address/change their situation? Any other observable behaviors noted during the session.
4. Plan: What is the plan for the future of this client? Did the client contribute to the plan for the future of her situation? If the client contributed, what role will they have in the plan for the future? Discuss any specific plans.
