Too Tired? Too Anxious? Need More Time? We’ve got your back.
In this essay, you will follow the prompts in the following scenario:
You have just been elected to be the next secretary-general of the United Nations, and you have been charged to end the conflict in the Middle East. Consider the following issues in the Middle East, and select one that you might try to resolve:
Palestine and Israel
Sunni and Shiite
Oil and the West
The continuing U.S. and Russian competition for influence
Which of the above items would be the first issue you would resolve so the Middle East might start on the path toward a productive, peaceful future? Why did you choose that issue? Is there another issue, not listed, that needs attention before you can resolve your chosen issue? Be sure to identify any important significance between the issue and the geographic location in which it stems.
Keep in mind that whichever solution you address may have unintended consequences on other situations and relationships in the region. That is, if your solution to one issue makes matters worse elsewhere, it is not a sound solution and will be rejected.
Your essay must be at least two pages in length. Please adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
