In this assignment, you will demonstrate an application of relating resort functions in order to guide the design of physical spaces. To do so, you will prepare and discuss a bubble diagram.
Your tasks:
Assume that you are developing a lakeside resort that will have the following physical facilities or guest services.
Lodging
Dining
Entertainment
Large Meeting Space
Parking
Beach
Swimming Pool
Welcome Center (Reception)
Business Center Spa/Fitness Center
Prepare a Bubble Diagram that shows the functional relationship of these resort elements and discuss your diagram by briefly explaining why each function is related to others.
For example: If I was to prepare a bubble diagram for a home, I would link the kitchen, dining room and family room and explain that they are functionally related by the fact that each is a place where family members have a dining/snacking experience or where the food is prepared and stored.
Your bubble diagram can be neatly hand drawn. Remember, this is not a site plan or building blueprint.
