In the UK, the engineering sector is regulated by the Engineering Council which maintains a register of qualified engineers.
Chartered Engineer is the highest level of professional qualification.
Engineering Council also accredits academic programmes through affiliated professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) which also accredits your programme.
In August 2020, Engineering Council has published a new guideline for accrediting academic programmes, AHEP4.
This provides clear defining characteristics of an engineer and the learning outcomes expected to be covered by an accredited programme.
Learning outcomes 7-11 are concerned with the role and responsibilities of an engineer and the impact their activities could have on society.
These are collated under the following headings:
• Sustainability
• Ethics
• Risk
• Security
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Write a 2,000 word essay on how you would fulfil your role as a professional engineer while working in an organisation and how you would hold the values and responsibilities to the society as promoted by the Engineering Council using the only TWO of the five headings listed above.
Please make sure ONLY TWO headings out of the 5 are chosen.
Include up to 6 sources (4 minimum)

Please make sure the essay is written in UK English and referencing is in an IEEE style.
Thank you.
