Communication Theory Proposal Assignment
You will have to complete a communication theory paper based on an incident in your life that you can apply a communication theory to; before you do that, you will have to write a proposal for this paper. You cannot get a grade for the final paper without completing the proposal which is worth 50 points. In this proposal, you will have to do the following:
Identify a significant incident in your life that you would like to try to analyze using a communication theory. Choose a theory which you think could be used to analyze this part of your life. This theory must come from the textbook! It does not have to only be on a theory we have covered, it can be any theory in the book.
Describe why you think the theory you have chosen could best analyze this event. In other words, why does this theory seem like the best way to study this event in your life?
Identify what you hope to learn from using the above theory to your analysis.
Identify five sources from communication journals which you will use to analyze this event with the particular theory you have chosen. Provide a one-paragraph rationale for each article you have identified as to how this will help you in your analysis.
List each of your sources in APA Style at the end of the proposal.
This proposal is to be no more than four and no less than three pages. The listing of references does not count in this page total. Have a cover page in APA Style which also does not count as one of the 3-4 pages. This proposal must be written in proper APA Style. This proposal is to be double-spaced and, in a font that is no larger than 12-point.
