Basic Description
For the publish version that is due first:
Write an analytical research essay with a total of 500 words, plus a works cited page using AAA style. Follow the guidelines on the essay format in the document called How to Write an Analytical Essay.
1. Format: The essay must include an introduction, two body paragraphs per point you make (i.e. a Descriptive and then an Analytical paragraph for each point), a true concluding paragraph, and a Works Cited page. The Works Cited page does not count towards the 500 words requirement. Use the guide called How to Write an Analytical Essay for the exact format to implement. That is, you are NOT writing an argument paper, not an opinion piece, etc. You are only writing an exploratory research essay.
2. Required Writing: You will receive feedback for transforming it into a final version amounting to a total of 1000 words.
3. Grading Standards: Always use the Grading Rubric to score and develop your publish essay before submitting it; for example, did you limit your use of direct quotations to one line per page of writing?
4. Writing techniques: You are required to implemental all 5 of the writing techniques in the Final version of this essay, but for the publish version, the first three of five techniques must be present.
5. Sources: You must use a minimum of three academic peer-reviewed publications from academic journal articles and/or academic books. Two of these three sources must come from our course readings, though feel free to have all three sources can come from the course readings. You must use these three sources as the author intended for them to be used (i.e. use the main point of the publication) and each publication must make up about 33% of the discussion in your essay (i.e. you cannot drop a quote and move on).
