contrasting with the typical ‘origin story’ of how such a Canon is created. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of
developing and maintaining a “Canon” of Sociological theory. What specific contributions and experiences have been
neglected due to this “Canon?” What specific actions are necessary – within theory, within academic departments, within
publication process, etc. – to disrupt or change course with regard to our “Canon” of theory?
