This was very helpful. Thank you.
    Also, may I add?
The fact where Gaston writes the date of the day before on the cheque is also important. It makes the entire affair absolutely legal, as he had received the cheque from Mrs Al Smith dated that day. It’s another example of Gaston’s wit and presence of mind. Oh and, the lawyer’s address was *5, Rue Cambon.
    Otherwise, splendid analysis.

    It’s all great.
But I have jst 1 doubt
Gaston: (to himself) Since you are dear bought – I will love you dear.
Mrs AL Smith: Say you. What do you take me for?
    Gaston: Sorry. That’s Shakespeare… I mean cash.
Please I can’t understand what Gaston means?

Sorry, Shrestha. I have lost track of the story. Gaston was in a non-serious mood. He told Mrs. Smith that he would pay cash for the deal. It was possibly a sarcastic reply.
